Just out of interest Derek, do you like the Grateful Dead ?
I liked Tricky from Massive attack, in the 1990's! Interesting CD's!👌🕊
Hi Dereck, do you like any music by Hauschka?
Yes.
@@dereckvon He played in my home town of Bracknell in the South of England, early 2000's. Seemed such a nice modest guy. Was a real treat hearing him perform. Cheers!
Good show! Have a great day...William and son
What are your plans for Lp storage moving forward? Will you stack in front of stacks?✌️
Whatever's necessary.
Lunchtime w Dereck👋🏻hello and a cheers to you! Enjoy seeing your collection and I think I enjoy the memories better than seeing em hmmmm hope that comes across right....take care D✊🏻☮️🙏🏻☀️🎶🎶🎶
A lot of economics is theory and ppl put it forth as fact. Big part of our politics.
Great channel. I wish mine was doing as well.
love from australia! been put on to so much great stuff from your channel over the years
♥
Your abundant love and respect for CT simply oozes off the screen. Infectious interviewing!
Hi Derck So glad like the mixes! Peace,Love and music! Trish
you made me realise fucking bangs
‘a grain of sand’….brilliant! I’ll use that in a lyric to credit you for. Thanks for the Mr Flood’s Party recommendation. Checking it out now….. Peace ✨
Agree with you about the constant need for joke telling, tedious, inane, and boring.
The Glider EP by MBV is mind-blowing.
Rained super heavy here, so I did my walking inside at a recreational area....so just got home and tuned in and aye!! Diagnostics cost a LOT!! Around a 100 or so here...ok glad to hear things are BASICALLY ok for now.......watching D👋🏻
The coffee sounds is just like the plastic vinyl sleeves for me. The whole asmr thing. I guess I'm weird but I just love sound...
Ridiculous, you having coffee with us is one of the highlights !
Their comeback album ‘mbv’ from 2013 still sounds timeless as well. They could have said it was recorded 2 years after Loveless and we’d be none the wiser. Good stuff
I have it.
I love music, I make music, I am a creative person, but I have never gotten into drugs outside of smoking pot once in while. I never understood the draw to cocaine, harder drugs or even psychedelics, that world never resonated with me, I’ve seen friends completely run their lives with both drugs and alcohol and some are no longer with us because of them. I think life is tough, but I prefer to observe it through my own eyes and mind without enhancing it or distorting and escaping it.
I spend many hours just listening,also ❤
Happy birthday Kate Bush! 66 today.
As an American I always find it very odd how seniors are treated in the U.S., here in Brazil when you turn 60 you get so many benefits, including free public transportation, you can use preferencial lines at most places, half price discounts on events and many other things as well and your dr can also give authorization to receive your medication first free as well. It’s much like Europe here, the U.S. is so behind in so many meats with social structures. It’s weird to me.
Good morning. Always enjoy your videos.
John Hassell, Harold Budd, AND Gavin Bryars? Wow, did not know about that one.
Hi Derek. Have you seen the weather report for Omaha? ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx3B1rqe37hjX0AKzc1QN8GhNgUAcKmgNw?si=Sqt9ijBtlMV8d9v9
Enjoyed the show...have a great day! William
I listened to Dressing for Pleasure by Jon Hassell & Bluescreen recently and really enjoyed it.
Cheers . Have your coffee ....I intend to.
Thanks very much for this video, Dereck. I actually live in Dunedin, New Zealand, so was pleasantly surprised to hear you mention it. I saw Martin playing at a private function here not that long ago. All the best to you.
Very cool!
NIce tribute to Martin Dereck, big Chills fan here.
Adrian Borland is another musician I would categorize as victim of the industries cosmetic expectations.
It's so great to hear an extended interview with Percy! As Derek alluded, Percy has a more "low-key" persona in the media and hasn't courted celebrity - basically letting his music speak for itself. This was such a pleasant, informative chat with a phenomenonal artist!
Is someone in your neighborhood messing with your car!
No.
I had an adderral script , that stuff can be even stronger than coke
Oh yes, showing more CDs would be great.
Hey Dereck, In your case and for that matter all senior citizens should get some kind of discount on sidewalk repair done on their property. Those wild fires, the same story over and over, except they get worse and worse. Take care Dereck
Hi Dereck it's William thank you for those kind remarks about Martin of The Chills my son and I listened to his music today and watched a documentary on his life. All my respect, William
I got into Ultra Vivid Scene (Special One) and Wolfgang Press (Kansas) via Snub TV 👍
Cheers Dereck! Great to see you.
I love your paisley shirt and strong coffee is appreciated. That music is pretty cool! ~Eric
Rip Martin. Flying Nun records had many great artists on their label through the years. These New Zealand bands were not easy to find at one point. At least where I lived.
The velvet darkness album does have a beautiful acoustic piece called last may, the cover has the nyc twin towers, but yeah we never talked about velvet darkness, leonardo knew it too.
The labor rate is what gets me for car repairs
@@eugeneunger2473 No kidding.
The Chills were great. R.I.P. Martin.
I’m sending karma your way and maybe just maybe it’s a cable that didn’t get hooked back up ok? Ok that’s where my heads at for you ✊🏻☮️🙏🏻🎶
Cheers Dereck☕️✊🏻I still have CDs that I repurchased on vinyl, well they are buying CDs cause of price (I’m guessing) of vinyl now.... ooooooh shiet!!!! F’n😱 cars man o man I’m feelin’ your pain...took me a year to pay mine off and then other stuff surfaced......but this isn’t about me, I’m with ya D...🙏🏻😳🙏🏻
Hey, Dereck I like your Steven Wilson T-Shirt that's awesome. I still collect CDs. A lot of people get too crazy about what format to use to listen to the music. They are missing the point, it's not the format it's the music !!! Good luck with the Car. Hopefully, everything turns out for the better. It's just horrible with the fires in the US and Canada.
When the time comes, the buick skylark or le sabre with the 3800 v6 from 00 to 05 seems to be a good car to own for reliability. Here around des moines a person can get a good one for about 3500-4000.
Hi Dereck, I just heard late last night, that Martin Phillips of the Chills, has passed away unexpectedly. I think this probably had something to do with his hepatitis C diagnosis, which left him with some compromised health issues. This was all covered in the documentary he made a few years ago, which was screened here in New Zealand, and was repeated recently. One of the contributors to that documentary, is someone who I actually know personally, and was a band member of the Chills, at the time that they were getting noticed. Anyway, I thought this news may have gone under the radar, so I thought I'd let you know about it. Also, I was pleased to see that you have a copy of the "Faction" album, which for me, is one that I enjoy quite a lot. Although it's nothing special production wise, the tracks are both catchy and quirky, and have some very nice ambient passages, to contrast with the overall theme. It's quite a unique little gem of an album I think.
